L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Awards
2017 Edition | | | 18 DAYS UNTIL THE CLOSING DATE OF THE NOMINATION PROCESS The Call for Nomination for the 19th edition of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Awards is still open. The L’Oréal Foundation and UNESCO invite you to put forward the names of extraordinary female scientists for the 2017 L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Awards. | The 2017 edition of the Awards will celebrate five outstanding scientific researchers in the Physical Sciences (chemistry, physics, astronomy…), working in one of the following regions: Africa & the Arab States, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America. Each of the five Laureates will receive an award of €100,000 to further their impactful research.
The Call for Nomination is open until June 20th, 2016. Women scientists can only be nominated by qualified scientists (PhD minimum requirement). An independent, international jury of eminent scientists will gather in September to make the final selection.
The Awards will be presented in Paris during March 2017 to the five women laureates selected by an international jury for their outstanding contribution to scientific advancement.
In order to nominate a candidate, please follow the registration procedure at the For Women in Science website www.forwomeninscience.com. From the site, you will be able to upload all the necessary documents in order to submit the nomination. Only completed nominations received through the platform by this deadline will be considered. | SELECTION CRITERIA: The candidate must be recognized for her personal scientific excellence among the international scientific community / Be actively involved in scientific research / Be involved in any field of the Physical Sciences / Not be directly or personally involved in the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Sciences program, as a jury member or otherwise, in any country.
MULTIPLE NOMINATIONS & RENOMINATIONS: if you wish to nominate several candidates or renominate a candidate you presented in the past, you may do so.
